The Notre Dame Football team kicks off their 2021 season against Florida State, and here is our early preview of the Seminoles.

The Notre Dame Football vs. Florida State series has been brief but exciting. From playing in the 1993 Game of the Century to having Irish hearts ripped out in 2014, few games capture our collective imagination.

That is until Florida State hit rock bottom and the last two meetings were relative blowouts.

The two will meet again to start the 2021 season, and this time they play in Tallahassee, and it will air as the Sunday night game in primetime on ABC. This is before the NFL starts, so they’ll be the only two playing, which means this is a statement game for both teams.

If Notre Dame can make a statement, they’ll be announcing that they aren’t going away any time soon. If Florida State can win, or even keep it close, though, it will spark concerns about Notre Dame and optimism for Florida State.

In other words, it’s an opener between two teams in transitional periods. Notre Dame needs a new quarterback and offensive line, and so does Florida State. Notre Dame needs better wide receiver play, and so does Florida State. You get the idea.

So, before we get to the season, what do you need to know about the Florida State Seminoles?
