Notre Dame Football: Ranking which 2021 UDFA will make the 53-man roster

3. Javon McKinley, Detroit Lions

Sticking with the Detroit Lions, wide receiver Javon McKinley was another player they signed from the 2020 Notre Dame Football team. McKinley had a monster season for the Irish, becoming the top wideout option for quarterback Ian Book, and played well enough to catch the eyes of multiple NFL teams.

While he was not drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, McKinley is a guy who I like to battle for a roster spot in a big way in 2021 with the Lions. In fact, he is either going to make the team, or be one of the final cuts, because he has everything you look for in an NFL receiver in terms of size, speed, and catching ability.

The Lions are in a bit of a revamping period on offense, as they traded away Matthew Stafford and will roll with Jared Goff this season. They have some good talent at wideout in Breshad Perriman and Tyrell Williams, but it is pretty weak behind them, so this is a perfect spot for McKinley to steal a roster spot this summer.
