Notre Dame Football: Ranking which 2021 UDFA will make the 53-man roster

No. 1: Tommy Kraemer, Detroit Lions

One of the more shocking surprises during the 2021 NFL Draft in terms of the Notre Dame Football program was the fact that Tommy Kraemer was not selected. Kraemer, who was first-team All-ACC and a third-team All-American in 2020, was mocked to go on Day 3, but he may end up being glad he was not drafted before all is said and done, and was able to pick his landing spot.

In terms of the guard spot, the Lions have two 2020 draft picks slated to start per Ourlads.com, so the opportunity is there for him to come in and earn a spot. Kraemer is already listed as a backup, which means he will get some first-team reps this summer, and based on what he did at Notre Dame, the coaches are going to love what they see.

In terms of Kraemer, not only do I believe that he is going to make the roster in Detroit, but I also believe that he is going to end up a starter before long. There is no way he should have been passed over during the 2021 NFL Draft, and he will make sure to prove he belongs at the next level this summer.
