Notre Dame Football: 5 new potential impact players on offense in 2021

No. 2: OT Blake Fisher

Staying with Blake Fisher, what is not to like about this dominant offensive tackle that could be the next elite OT for this program. ALready expected to possibly start as a true freshman, Fisher has been putting on a show since joining the program, and there is no reason why he should not start in 2021.

He has the size, strength, and agility to be a starting left tackle from Day 1, and putting him there would enable Jarrett Patterson to stay on the inside and play center. Brian Kelly has already stated that center is Patterson’s best spot, so why not keep him there, and let the freshman come in and protect Coan’s blindside.

It is an exciting time to be a fan of this program, as we are seeing a solid 2021 class join the fray, and the 2022 and 2023 classes already look loaded. In Fisher, the Irish could have landed themselves a four-year starter at left tackle, and a potential first-round pick down the road.
