Notre Dame Football: 3 Reasons Chris Tyree will play a bigger role 2021
Tyree has game-breaking speed
I mentioned that Tyree’s speed was one of his strongest attributes. As a junior in high school, Tyree was recorded running the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds. He also won the Fastest Man Competition at The Opening Finals, which is an annual showcase for the top high school prospects.
He has the type of speed that keeps defensive coordinators up at night. It is also one of the main reasons why offensive coordinator Tommy Rees put the ball in Tyree’s hands over 80 times last season, and why that number is going to increase in a big way during the 2021 campaign.
Every time he steps on the field, opposing defenses have to account for him. Whenever the football is in his hands, Tyree is a threat to take it to the house. A player with that skillset needs to be a feature in your offense.
Tyree is one of those special players who, once the ball is in his hands in space, he is trouble.
