The Notre Dame football program has some dynamic players coming in as true freshmen, though some will actually benefit from backing up in Year 1.

Coming off another ten-win season, the Notre Dame football program is looking to get back to work this summer and fight for another College Football Playoff appearance. The Irish have made it to two of the last three CFPs, and with another solid roster going into the 2021 season, there is reason to believe they could be one of the final four (or 12) teams standing once again this year.

Sure, there are questions on both sides of the ball, but this is Notre Dame, one of the elite programs in the country. While the roster is lacking their all-time winningest quarterback, multiple All-Americans, and some multi-year starters, they have good depth coming back, and a solid 2021 recruiting class coming in.

While this could end up being a season where they struggle, the odds are this is going to be another ten-win campaign for the Irish, and another deep run to a CFP appearance. Brian Kelly and his staff will have this team ready when it comes time to face Florida State in Week 1, and it is going to be fun to watch how all the new players gel in their new roles this Fall.

Looking at the roster, there are plenty of new faces, whether from the transfer portal, or as true freshmen, and these three on the offensive side of the ball will thrive as backups in 2021.
