Notre Dame football: 3 bold predictions on offense in 2021

Kyren Williams rushes for over 1,500 yards

While there are a bunch of questions on the offensive side of the ball, there is no question that Kyren Williams will be the feature back in 2021. This is a guy who rushed for over 1,000 yards as a redshirt freshman this past season, taking over the starting role and becoming one of the more dynamic backs in the country.

A threat on the ground, and through the air, Williams will be the key to the Irish offense in 2021, and he is certainly capable of shouldering the load. After rushing for 1,125 yards this past season, there is reason to believe he will blow that number out of the water, and a 1,500-yard season could be in the cards for him.

By reaching the 1,500-yard mark, Williams would become the single-season rushing record holder for a program that has seen some elite backs come through. With a new quarterback, and issues at the wide receiver position, you can be sure that Tommy Rees is going to get the ball into Williams’ hands as often as possible next season.
