Notre Dame football: 3 bold predictions on offense in 2021

Wide receiver spot becomes a strength

We have spoken at length about the wide receiver spot for the Notre Dame football team this season, an area where there are major question marks. Last season, Ben Skowronek and Javon McKinley led the way at the position group, but both are now in the NFL, leaving a huge cast of players ready to take the helm atop the depth chart.

From Braden Lenzy, to Kevin Austin Jr., and Avery Davis, there are plenty of veteran guys still within the program that can step up and become a legitimate weapon for Jack Coan in the passing game. The Irish also have the likes of Lawrence Keys III, Joe Wilkins, and Xavier Watts as guys who will return in 2021, but it remains to be seen who will come away with the starting jobs as we enter the summer months.

Then there are the exciting freshmen that have arrived in 2021, including Lorenzo Styles Jr., Deion Colzie, and Jayden Thomas, all of which bring playmaking ability to South Bend. While we do not know who will assume starting roles right now, when all is said and done, this could be a position group that goes from a big question, to an actual strength.
