The Notre Dame football program has a special player at running back in 2021, and Kyren Williams could end up being an All-American.

Last season, Notre Dame football got an incredible year from running back Kyren Williams, who was making the jump to being the feature back as a redshirt freshman. Williams not only took the lead role at running back, but he ran away with it, pun intended, putting together a 1,000-yard season for the Irish.

Now, entering his second season as the feature back, Williams will be asked to do even more, this after the team lost a ton of talent on offense via the 2021 NFL Draft. Both top wideouts are gone, as is the starting quarterback, and not to mention eighty percent of the starting offensive line from a year ago.

In Williams, the Irish have the kind of do-everything back that can be on the field for all three downs, but there is also a lot of talent behind him. In fact, we expect a breakout season for sophomore Chris Tyree, giving the Irish one of the better 1-2 punches at running back in the country.

Here, we take a look at three reasons Williams will be an All-American in 2021.
