Notre Dame football: 3 reasons Kyren Williams will be a 2021 All-American

Williams is a dual-threat running back

The Notre Dame football program has questions on the offense going into the summer, including who is going to protect the new quarterback, as well as block for Williams. Tommy Kraemer, Liam Eichenberg, Robert Hainsey, and Aaron Banks have all gone on to the NFL, leaving the Irish with plenty of new faces in 2021.

Fortunately, this is Notre Dame, and that means that there will be elite talent stepping in and filling their shoes. Another question is who will step up at wide receiver, but in Williams, they actually have a running back who can not only make plays on the ground, but also through the air, as he is a quality pass-catcher.

Last season, Williams was able to rack up over 1,100 yards on the ground, and then over 300 yards through the air, numbers he actually could expand upon in 2021. All told, this is a season that could see him inch towards 2,000 all-purpose yards, which would be one of the highest totals in the country.
