Notre Dame football: 10 most important players in 2021

2. Kyle Hamilton, Safety

There is no more talented player on Notre Dame than Kyle Hamilton, that’s just a basic reality of how this team is structured. Because of that, Hamilton is going to be vital to the Notre Dame defense in several key ways.

For one, he’s a veteran leader who can attack the RPO game, crash the running game on the line of scrimmage, or even play blanket coverage. Because of his skill and versatility, Hamilton is going to be the most important player on the Notre Dame defense in 2021.

This is only exacerbated by the struggles and youth of the Notre Dame secondary. He’s likely going to need to cover for mistakes and erase potentially big plays against their opponents’ passing games. This is likely going to be Hamilton’s last season in South Bend, as he could be a top-10 draft pick next year.

So, enjoy him while he’s around.
