Notre Dame football: 10 most important players in 2021

9. Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, Defensive Line

Notre Dame has proven to be dominant on the defensive line in recent seasons, often rotating in a deep group of star talent. Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa has been a key part of that group in recent seasons, and luckily for Marcus Freeman and his coaching staff, he is back in 2021.

A second-team All-ACC selection in 2020, Tagovailoa-Amosa was always around the ball,l and is incredibly tough in the run game. As has become fairly standard, Notre Dame lost a few key players on the defensive line from last season, with both edge rushers selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Daelin Hayes and Adetokunbo Ogundeji are both in the NFL now, so, the Irish have to replace that production. Tagovailoa-Amosa fits that role incredibly well, as he’s tough on the inside and against the run, but he’s also a  proven talent, capable of being one of the better defensive linemen in all of college football.
