The Notre Dame football team should have some of the better running backs in the country in 2021, and we take a look at the position group as a whole.

The Notre Dame football team has a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, and that includes figuring out who will be the starting quarterback in 2021. On the surface, it looks like the plan will be to go with a veteran in Jack Coan, though Drew Pyne and true freshman Tyler Buchner are making a push this offseason.

Upfront along the offensive line, the Irish are revamping the entire unit, for the most part, this after four starters went to the NFL after the 2020 season. The only returning starter, Jarrett Patterson, is moving from center to offensive guard, so in many ways, this will be a brand new group in front of whoever gets the starting quarterback job.

Luckily for the Irish, they have a tremendous collection of running backs, led by Kyren Williams, who burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman this past season. Williams leads a group that could end up being one of the best in the country next season, and that should lead to another solid season in South Bend.

With that said, let us take a look at the position group, a possible depth chart, and expectations for 2021.
