Notre Dame football: Previewing the 2021 Wide Receivers
By Brad Weiss
The Notre Dame football program is replacing their top two options at wide receiver in 2021, and there are plenty of question marks with the position group.
Last season, the Notre Dame football team got great play from two men who are currently battling to make their respective rosters at the NFL level. Both Javon McKinley and Ben Skowronek were solid for Ian Book and this offense, becoming the top two options in the passing game when it came to the wide receiver spot.
During the 2021 NFL Draft, Skowronek was a late-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams, while Javon McKinley was signed as an undrafted free agent. Both players are trying to carve a spot for themselves with their respective new organizations, and we will keep an eye on that throughout the summer.
For the returning wide receivers, that means there is a golden opportunity to really make a name for themselves this season. The position group boosts a solid blend of veteran talent, as well as new faces, and there is enough firepower there to turn this position group from a question mark to a strength.
Here, we look at the current cast of wideouts, what the depth chart could look like, and expectations.
