Expectations in 2021

It is hard to gauge expectations for this position group heading into the 2021 college football season, as we still do not even know who the quarterback will be. Still, we can assume that the offense is going to revolve around two players, tight end Michael Mayer, and running back Kyren Williams, so the wide receiver group will not be a feature, at least to start.

However, for both Mayer and Williams to have another tremendous season, someone is going to have to step up at this position, and I believe it is going to be Lenzy. This is a kid who possesses everything you look for in a true WR1, and if he can stay healthy, he has the speed to take the lid off the defense at any time.

Despite what most of the national media says, I actually do not hate this collection of talent, as I believe that there is enough there to scare defenses weekly. If the veterans can stay healthy and produce, the Irish can bring the younger guys along a bit slower, which would be the best-case scenario for everyone.
