The Notre Dame football team is banking on some elite players in 2021, but these five players have the most to prove this upcoming season.

The Notre Dame football team is coming off an undefeated regular season, and a spot in the College Football Playoff, but there is a lot of work to do in terms of the roster. The Irish have to replace 14 players due to the NFL, but despite that, there is a lot of talent remaining, including some exciting true freshmen and transfers.

With that said, we look at five players with the most to prove this upcoming season.

No. 5: Blake Fisher

Anytime a team decides to start a true freshman as their left tackle, there is going to be a lot to prove for that player. Blake Fisher is replacing a dominant player in Liam Eichenberg, the first member of the program selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, and one who basically made sure Ian Book was not touched for two seasons.

Fisher has shown since arriving on campus that he is not your ordinary true freshman, and most believe he will make an easy transition to the college ranks. However, he will have to prove he is the right man for the job early on because there are too many question marks on offense to have to worry about the left tackle spot.
