Notre Dame football: 4 Reasons Kyle Hamilton will win the Bednarik Award

There is a Ton of Hype Around Kyle Hamilton

The first thing that you need to win major awards is to be a known commodity. The average player who has a breakout year is going to struggle to win an award unless that season was a phenomenal one. When you’re a known player, people are watching you from the start, looking for you to be successful from the start.

If there is hype around you, then you don’t have to beat any expectations. People want you to be an award-winning player.

That hype around Hamilton is well-deserved. A former five-star recruit, he’s been playing at an All-American level for his first two seasons on campus. Now, his junior season, most people are expecting him to be off to the NFL after this season. When he does, there are only a couple of other defenders in the country that will rival him to be the top-drafted defensive player.

When you play at Notre Dame, there is going to be even more attention paid to you as well. That’s both a benefit and negative, depending on your situation. However, for a player pushing to win awards at the college level, it’s incredibly important. More media visibility and bigger games makes it easier to find a player to vote for.

The hype around Hamilton is out of this world for good reason, and he can ride that momentum to an award-winning season.
