Notre Dame football: Kyren Williams should run wild against Virginia Tech

Bottom Line on the Hokies

This is a Virginia Tech team that always seems to have potential, but it’s been over a decade now since they have even won their conference, let alone threatened to win a National Championship. It’s starting to look like they’re never going to get back to the heights of the Frank Beamer era, but expectations aren’t going away.

The Hokies and Fuente need to figure this out, and get back to the top of the ACC soon.

This just isn’t the team to do that. Lots of turnover and a general lack of depth up and down the roster, but particularly on defense, are going to cost them this season. Dodging Clemson helps, but expecting them to be better than 8-4 or 7-5 probably isn’t fair.

Too Early Prediction

Notre Dame is going to win this game at the line of scrimmage. A rebuilt offensive line, and a quarterback who doesn’t have enough, are going to buckle under the weight of Notre Dame’s defensive line. Meanwhile, there may be talent in the secondary, but the Irish won’t need to test it, as the Hokies’ front seven is going to struggle to slow down Kyren Williams all day long.
