The Notre Dame football team will move on from Ian Book in 2021, and here is the quarterback on the roster who has the most to prove.

The Notre Dame football program is replacing talent on both sides of the ball, but no position is more important than the quarterback spot. Over the past few seasons, the Irish have been lucky to have Ian Book as their starting quarterback, and he has taken that honor and become the all-time winningest signal-caller in program history.

Now, with Book heading to the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints, it is time to turn the page. Luckily for the Irish, they have a bunch of options to choose from, between a graduate transfer, a true freshman, and a few players that have been with the program over the past few seasons.

In terms of who has the most to prove this summer, it would be a toss-up between a few guys, as they are fighting for the starting job in 2021, but also to prove that they could be the long-term answer at the school. Graduate transfer Jack Coan has one year of eligibility left, and is in line to be the starter, but does that really mean he has the most to prove?
