The Notre Dame football program should have an excellent duo at the running back spot in 2021, but which player has the most to prove this season?

Looking at the 2021 Notre Dame football team, there are a lot of question marks on the offensive side of the ball. First and foremost, the Irish will be replacing quarterback Ian Book, who was a fourth-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints this year and left school as the all-time winningest quarterback in program history.

Then there is the offensive line, where eighty percent of the starting lineup headed to the NFL this offseason, with three of them drafted, and one as an undrafted free agent. There will be a brand-new group upfront in 2021, clearing ways for a running back group that should be one of the best in college football.

Led by Kyren Williams, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, the Irish should be able to dominate on the group, as it is a position group that is deep, and talented. Williams will be the feature back, showing the ability to make plays on the group and through the air, but the talent certainly does not stop there.

Entering 2021, which one of the backs has the most to prove?
