Five Notre Dame football players projected in four-round 2022 NFL mock draft

Day 3 and Thoughts

In a mock that is only four rounds long, the final pick from Notre Dame football is Cain Madden, who is playing his first, and only season in South Bend this fall. An All-American for the University of Marshall, Madden arrives with the Irish to help bolster an offensive line that has lost eighty percent of their starters from a year ago.

Madden and Patterson should both be All-Americans for the Irish this season, and in this mock, they are both gone by the time the fifth round kicks off next year. In this mock draft, Madden lands with the Washington Football Team, and on a team that is on the rise on defense, adding offensive talent makes a ton of sense here.

This is a solid haul for the Irish, though when you think of players like Isaiah Foskey, Zeke Correll, Drew White, and even Kurt Hinish, there could be plenty more Notre Dame football players taken in the first four rounds.

Overall, there are some hits and misses in this mock draft, but as we saw last year, anything can happen once the picks start flying in. Notre Dame football sent 14 players to the NFL via the draft and in undrafted free agency during this past draft cycle, and while that may not happen again, some names are going to surprise next Spring.
