The Notre Dame football team has a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, and these three players need to step up in a big way in 2021.

Last season, the Notre Dame football team saw a breakout season from running back Kyren Williams, who rushed for over 1,000 yards in his first season as the feature back. Also, they saw the rise of true freshman Michael Mayer, who hauled in over 40 catches for nearly 500 yards in Year 1 on campus.

Of course, last year’s offense was led by Ian Book, the all-time winningest quarterback in program history, and a current fourth-round selection of the New Orleans Saints. Book was the leader of the group, standing tall behind a tough offensive line, one that saw four starters head to the NFL after another solid season in South Bend.

In 2021, Williams and Mayer return, but the quarterback situation is up in the air, and the team is still trying to figure out who starts along the offensive line. Also, the wide receiver group is a big question mark, so there is a lot of work to do before the Irish take on the Florida State Seminoles in Week 1.

Here are three players on the offensive side of the ball who need to step up in 2021.
