Notre Dame football: 3 offensive players who must step up in 2021

No. 3: Zeke Correll, Center

We start in the middle of it all, as the Irish will likely turn to Zeke Correll to be their starting center for the 2021 campaign. In recent years, that job has belonged to Jarrett Patterson, who became one of the better centers in the country, but he is making the move to offensive guard this season.

For Correll, he just has to come in and be the leader of this offensive line and proved that he was up to the challenge last season when Patterson got hurt. For the pieces to work up front, and for Patterson to remain at guard, Correll will have to step up for the Irish in a big way, holding down the middle of this offensive line.

Notre Dame football is known for producing high-level offensive linemen, and despite most of these guys not having much starting experience, it is a talented collection of men. They will be tasked with replacing a special group that was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award last season, but if Correll can be what the program thinks he is, they are solid across the board.
