Notre Dame Football 2021: Most Impactful Players, No. 15-11

No.15: Jayson Ademilola, Defensive Line

Jayson Ademilola was a four-star prospect from St. Peter’s Prep high school in New Jersey, and both Jayson and his twin brother Justin were members of Notre Dame’s 2018 recruiting class. Jayson made an immediate impact as a true freshman, as during that year, he played in eleven games, and accounted for 19 total tackles and a half-sack.

Ademilola earned a more prominent role within the Notre Dame defense as a sophomore in 2019. That season, he also played in eleven games and totaled 25 tackles, four tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, and a pass break-up.

During the latter half of the 2020 season, Ademilola needed surgery to repair a torn meniscus, and the procedure and recovery kept him on the sidelines for about a month. Despite that injury, Ademilola was able to play in eight games that season, including the ACC Championship and College Football Playoff Semifinal.

In those eight games, he accounted for seven tackles, two quarterback hurries, and a half-sack.

Notre Dame’s defensive line has some of the best depth on the entire 2021 roster. Ademilola will need to compete throughout the season to retain the significant snap share that he has already earned. After having two seasons where he was credited for just half a sack, I think Ademilola will get at least one sack in 2021.
