Notre Dame football: Offensive star to worry about on each 2021 opponent

Game No. 9: Navy, WR Mychal Cooper

Looking at the two teams heading into this matchup, the Notre Dame football squad should be able to take care of business against Navy. The Midshipmen have a huge question mark at the quarterback position, and I do not see any way that their defense can stop the Irish for four quarters in this one.

However, on offense, Navy does have an outstanding wide receiver in Mychal Cooper, who was recently named the Captain of Captains. That means he is one of the captains for the entire athletic programs at Navy, and rightfully so, as he is someone who not only gets it done on the field but is also the ultimate leader off of it.

For now, we will focus on his exploits on the field, and he is going to be someone that this defense needs to focus on in a big way. Throughout his career, he has averaged nearly 20 yards per reception, and while Navy is mostly known as a school that likes to keep it on the ground, Cooper is going to hurt you if you do not account for him on every play.
