Notre Dame football: Offensive star to worry about on each 2021 opponent

Game No. 3: Purdue, WR David Bell

The Purdue offense will be without their top weapon in 2021, as wide receiver Rondale Moore was a second-round pick of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. In his place, David Bell is ready to take over as the top option in the passing game, and one outlet named him as a top-30 player in the Big Ten heading into the season.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior was named first-team All-Big Ten last season, as he hauled in 53 passes for over 600 yards in only six games. A touchdown machine, Bell nabbed eight on the season, and four times he went over 100 yards in a game. His best game: a 13-catch barrage against Iowa.

It is not like Bell is new news, as he was the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Year in 2019, and Freshman All-American, this after surpassing the 1,000-yard mark. The secondary has to know where he is at all times because you can be sure that quarterback Jack Plummer will look his way early and often.
