The Notre Dame football team is ranked No. 9 overall in the first AP Poll, but some of the players on this team are underrated, and we look at four.

As we inch closer to the season opener for the Notre Dame football team, we have a pretty clear indication of who the starters will be. All spring and summer these players have been battling out to move up the depth chart, and with the season opener two weeks away, we are officially very close to some Notre Dame football.

It has been an interesting offseason, to say the least, as the Irish have had to replace a ton of talent, including 14 that are currently on NFL rosters. The 2020 team put together an undefeated regular season, including a win against then-No. 1 Clemson, so to duplicate that kind of result is going to take a full team effort.

We know important pieces are being replaced, including four of five starters along a dominant offensive line, the winningest quarterback in program history, and an All-American defensive talent in Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Luckily, this is Notre Dame, where there is a ton of talent left on the roster, making them a top-10 team entering the 2021 campaign.

Still, there is a lot of national media that feel the Irish will take a step back this season, and with that said, here are four players who are underrated heading into the 2021 season.
