Notre Dame football: 3 reasons for optimism coming out of 2021 fall camp

Lots of home games

This season, the Notre Dame football team will welcome fans back into Notre Dame Stadium, this after the COVID-19 pandemic caused them to play in front of nearly empty stadiums in 2020. That is going to be huge for the Irish, who play some of the best teams on their schedule at home, and should have a rowdy crowd inside one of the greatest sports venues in America.

After the Week 1 road game against Florida State, the Irish will not play inside another team’s stadium until the sixth game of the season, when they travel to Blacksburg to play Virginia Tech. They host USC, UNC, Cincinnati, and Navy, all key games on their schedule, while the scheduled road game against Wisconsin will be played inside Soldier Field.

Overall, the Notre Dame football team has the talent on both sides of the ball to once again be in the conversation in terms of the College Football Playoff this season. A lot has to go right, including beating some tough teams at home, but when all is said and done, another double-digit win season should be in the cards in South Bend.
