Notre Dame football: 5 Irish who won’t be underrated for long

TaRiq Bracy, Cornerback

During the 2020 season, TaRiq Bracy stepped into a key role on the Notre Dame defense as one of their starting corners. Unfortunately for Bracy, he was overshadowed by an elite front seven and the All-American safety Kyle Hamilton who got all the credit in the secondary.

Still, Bracy managed to make the PFF team of the week for Week 1 after his performance against Duke, while having strong games against Florida State and Louisville.

TaRiq Bracy was an athlete in high school who was known for putting up massive numbers on the offensive side of the ball. However, due to his size at only 5-foot-10 and 177lbs, there wasn’t a ton of room for Bracy on the offensive side of the ball. That is excellent size for a corner though, where his natural athleticism is a huge benefit. So, he’s worked at the spot and developed into a great player during his time in South Bend.

Now a senior in a secondary that needs someone to step up and thrive in it, Bracy has an opportunity to be the lockdown corner that Notre Dame needs in 2021.
