Florida State Seminoles vs. Notre Dame Football: 3 things to watch

No. 2: Can Jack Coan lead the offense efficiently

It was a battle to the end, but finally, the Notre Dame football program announced that Jack Coan would be the starting quarterback for the 2021 college football season. Coming in as a graduate transfer, Coan has won over the coaching staff, and his teammates, and will now look to start his first game for the Irish on Sunday night.

When Coan steps under center in the first quarter against the Seminoles, he will be replacing a legend, as Ian Book won more games for this program than any other quarterback in history. Coan also has a history of being a very good quarterback, one who protects the ball, and is very adept at getting the ball into the hands of his playmakers.

He also has the ability to be a playmaker when need be, and for a team with so many question marks, it is good that they have someone who has played in some big games under center in 2021. Remember, this is a kid who dominated the Big Ten a few years back, and you have to believe he has a better group of teammates than he did at Wisconsin when he led them to the Big Ten title game.

His one-year stint starts Sunday.
