Notre Dame football: 3 keys to victory against Florida State in Week 1

Contain the talented duo of Corbin and Toafili

The Fighting Irish have a tough duo atop the depth chart at running back, and we will get into that later, but the Seminoles do as well. In fact, some feel the combination of Jashaun Corbin and Lawrance Toafili could be one of the best in the ACC this season, and both have the ability to hurt a defense in many ways.

Corbin is finally healthy after an injury during his time at Texas A&M, and he is ready to assume an even more prominent role in this Seminoles offense. Toafili is a guy who can rack up the all-purpose yards as well and was the team’s co-Offensive Rookie of the Year last season after a combined yardage total nearing 500.

Both men figure to play a big role in this one, as the Seminoles are still trying to figure out their wide receiver group, and will likely look to control the clock against Notre Dame. Notre Dame was able to keep Javonte Williams and Michael Carter in check last year when they took on UNC, and the defense needs to have the same kind of effort against this duo on Sunday night.
