Florida State Seminoles vs. Notre Dame Football: 3 Irish players to watch

No. 3: Blake Fisher

For the past few seasons, the Notre Dame football team has had the luxury of trotting out Liam Eichenberg to be their left tackle. One of the premier offensive linemen in the game, Eichenberg made it possible that Ian Book barely got touched, and that led to a ton of wins for this Irish football program.

During the 2021 NFL Draft, Eichenberg was the first member of the program off the board, landing with the Miami Dolphins in the second round. That left a big void at the left tackle position in South Bend, one that is going to be filled by a true freshman in Blake Fisher, who was recently ranked a top-15 true freshman in the country.

Fisher has the size, strength, and agility to be an elite offensive tackle down the line, but it will be interesting to see how an 18-year old matches up against a solid program like Florida State. It will be an excellent test for him, as he is going to face some incredible edge rushers this season, so all eyes are going to be on how he protects the blindside of Jack Coan in this one.
