Florida State Seminoles vs. Notre Dame Football: 3 Irish players to watch

No. 2: Isaiah Foskey

The Florida State Seminoles have yet to announce who their starting quarterback will be against Notre Dame, stating that we will know when he trots out to start the game. That could be some gamesmanship by head coach Mike Norvell, but either way, the Irish are going to need to get a pass rush no matter who is under center.

Florida State has two dynamic quarterbacks to choose from in McKenzie Milton and Jordan Travis, and they each have the ability to get the job done with their arm or their legs. After seeing Ade Ogundeji and Daelin Hayes head to the NFL via the draft, the program needs someone to step in and rack up sacks, and that player could be Isaiah Foskey.

Foskey has garnered a ton of national attention this offseason, as many believe he is going to be a breakout player for the Irish in 2021. While that remains to be seen, he is the one guy on this defense that is going to affect the rest of the unit, because if he can get a good pass rush against a mediocre Florida State offensive line, there are plenty of playmakers in the second-and-third level who can get the ball back into the Irish’s hands.
