Notre Dame football: 5 reasons the Irish will beat Florida State

Irish will use a balanced, calculated approach on offense

As we saw so far this weekend, the teams that are expected to win are having a hard time, as we have already seen multiple upsets. For the Irish to avoid this against Florida State, who could eventually be a ranked team this season, they will have to have a balanced and calculated approach on offense.

Early on, there is no reason for Jack Coan to come out and start flinging the ball around the field, playing outside of his wheelhouse, and potentially giving the ball back to a lesser Florida State team. Instead, they should get the party started on the group, utilizing the tandem of Kyren Williams and Chris Tyree to pummel the Seminoles into submission early on.

Then, Coan can attack through the passing game, and when it comes to his wide receiver group, there are plenty of veteran players looking to step up in a big way in 2021. As we stated earlier, Mayer is one of the premier tight ends in the country, so making sure all the stars are involved, and eating clock will enable the Irish to put the Seminoles away for good early on.
