Running Backs
Kyren Williams dominated Florida State last year. This year, not so much. Running was tough for Williams, who struggled to get to the edge all night long. Up the middle wasn’t much better. This wasn’t entirely his fault, though, as there was absolutely no room to operate and no holes to run through.
Chris Tyree had similar issues, though his natural speed helped him to hit the edge a bit more consistently than Williams, but not by much.
Williams did show up in the passing game, catching a key touchdown that, at the time, looked like a dagger play at the time. He also had an explosive reception in the screen game during the early second half. Between the two running backs, they had two catches for nearly 100 yards. Williams also continued to play well in pass protection.
C’Bo Flemister was unavailable for the game.
