The Notre Dame football team takes on Toledo in Week 2 of the college football season, and here are three things to watch for.

With the Florida State game in the rearview mirror, the Notre Dame football team will now turn their attention to the Toledo Rockets, a solid MAC team that goes into the game at 1-0 as well. Toledo is fresh off a dominant effort against Norfolk State, where they ran all over them to the tune of a 49-10 victory.

However, they will now try to invade Notre Dame Stadium, which is a completely different animal, and here are a few things that Irish fans should watch for in the matchup.

Get out to a fast start against the Rockets

The Notre Dame football team went into the matchup against Florida State as the favorite, and got off to a fast start, scoring on their first drive, and looking dominant on defense for the first two Seminoles possessions. However, after an 89-yard touchdown by Jashaun Corbin, the Irish let the Seminoles back in the game, and it was only a three-point difference at halftime.

That enabled the Seminoles to mentally stay in the game, and it was apparent when they erased an 18-point second-half deficit as well. Against a lesser team like Toledo, the Irish need to get out to a fast start, and keep their foot on the gas, burying the Rockets early, and cruising to what should be an easy victory in Week 2.
