Notre Dame Football vs. Toledo: 3 things to watch for in Week 2

Irish continue to stay balanced on offense

One thing that really stood out against Florida State was the play of quarterback Jack Coan, who went into the game with the expectation that he would protect the football, and not try to force anything. Instead, Coan attacked on the outside, throwing for nearly 400 yards for the Irish, setting the record for passing yards in a season opener.

On Saturday, the Irish need to continue to stay balanced on offense, and that means getting both Kyren Williams and Chris Tyree involved early, and often. That duo is going to be the difference in what the Irish do this season in terms of making a run, and while Coan’s passing attack was fun to watch, the Irish need to get Williams on track this week.

This is a game that the Irish should win, and they should win easily, but we have seen lesser teams win already this season. For Notre Dame football, they have to execute their gameplan early, and often, putting away a Toledo team that has ideas of coming to South Bend and pulling off a miracle.
