Notre Dame Football vs. Toledo: 3 things we learned in Week 2

Injuries are challenging the depth chart early on

The Notre Dame football team went into this game already banged up, as they were short-handed at linebacker, and would be without starting left tackle Blake Fisher. This led to issues upfront along the offensive line, as well as on the defensive side of the ball, which is something they will have to try and overcome in the coming weeks.

The schedule is not going to get any easier for this Notre Dame football team, and if they want to challenge for a College Football Playoff spot this season, they will have to navigate it with guys who were not originally slated to start. We will see who steps up next week, but if the offensive line continues to get dominated, teams like Wisconsin, Cincinnati, and Virginia Tech are going to be hard to beat.

At one point, the Irish were on their third-string left tackle, something that just cannot happen at this level of football. This week, they welcome a hungry Purdue team to town, one that has gotten off to a 2-0 start of their own, so getting things cleaned up is going to be paramount in what should be a crucial week of practice.
