Notre Dame football Game Saturday: Notre Dame vs. Purdue odds and prediction for Week 3 NCAA game
By Brad Weiss
The Notre Dame football team will take on the 2-0 Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, and here are the early odds and prediction for the matchup.
The Notre Dame football team will play their second straight home game on Saturday, as they welcome the 2-0 Purdue Boilermakers to Notre Dame Stadium. It has been a very interesting early season for the Irish, who are 2-0 on the season, but recently fell in the latest AP Poll due to the fact they have not won convincingly.
In Week 1, it took overtime to beat a Florida State team that lost to Jacksonville State this past weekend, and they looked to be upset by MAC school, Toledo in Week 2. It took some huge moments in the second half by two quarterbacks, Jack Coan, and Tyler Buchner, just to escape with the victory in front of the home fans.
Saturday, they play a Big Ten school with a lot to prove, so this one could get very interesting.
Notre Dame football vs. Purdue Odds Week 3
The Week 1 betting odds on WynnBET have the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as seven-point favorites going into this game, which seems like a big number considering how close their first two games have been. Purdue is not going to be a pushover and should be able to keep this one close, especially if their offense gets rolling early on.
Currently, the over/under is set at 59 points, which seems right considering how much these two teams have scored in their first two games of the season.
Notre Dame football vs. Purdue Prediction Week 3
This is going to be a good test for this Notre Dame football team, which has looked nothing like a College Football Playoff team to date. The Irish have struggled against lesser competition in each of the first two weeks, as they have battled injuries and inconsistent play on both sides of the ball.
The Irish do have the luxury of playing at home in this one, and Purdue, while sitting at 2-0, have not played elite competition either, beating Oregon State and UConn. They do have an outstanding quarterback in Jack Plummer, who has six touchdowns against no interceptions this season, and they have scored nearly 80 points in their first two games combined.
This game is going to be a tough one for the Irish because if the defense plays the way it did against Toledo and Florida State, allowing a ton of big plays, they could be upset by the Boilermakers. However, this has also proven to be a resilient team, coming back time and time again, so while it is going to be another close one, the Irish should move to 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
