5 reasons Notre Dame football will beat Purdue in Week 3

Something to prove

It may sound simple, but the Notre Dame football team has a lot to prove on Saturday, not only to the national media but also to themselves. They have proven time and time again this year that they can never be counted out, and even after blowing an 18-point second-half lead against Florida State, the Irish seemed to never put their heads down.

On Saturday, their opponent will be Purdue, and the Boilermakers are a team looking to prove to the rest of the country, and the Big Ten, that they are legit. Playing Notre Dame on the road is going to be a tall task for them, but in the end, I believe this is going to be a slugfest, one that will not be determined until at least late in the third quarter.

For the Irish, they need to pound Purdue into the ground, as they fell pretty hard in the latest AP Poll after the close victory against Toledo. Sure, stacking wins is important, but when it comes to the College Football Playoff, getting a few more convincing victories is going to go a long way down the road.
