5 reasons Notre Dame football will beat Purdue in Week 3

Quarterback duo of Coan and Buchner

There have not been too many occasions where a team rolling with two quarterbacks is the best way to go, but it seemed to work for the Irish on Saturday against Toledo. In fact, with the offense stagnant in the first half, Brian Kelly had no problem turning to true freshman Tyler Buchner for a spark, and he responded in a big way.

In fact, every time Buchner was on the field it looked like the Irish had a bit more juice in them, something that should continue against Toledo. Kelly has already stated that this is a good combination for the Irish, and if they perform the way they did on Saturday, I can see why BK will stick to this formula.

Coan is a guy who is never going to put his head down, is a team-first quarterback, and will do anything to help the team win. He showed that coming back in for the final drive, leading the Irish to a touchdown to win the game in front of the home crowd. He and Coan play very well off of each other, and that will be a difference against Jack Plummer and Purdue on Saturday.
