The Notre Dame football team takes on Purdue this weekend, and here are three members of the Fighting Irish to keep an eye on.

In a huge matchup inside Notre Dame Stadium, the Notre Dame football team will play host to the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday. Purdue comes into this game at 2-0, coming off a strong victory against UConn, and looking to make a statement on the national stage against the Fighting Irish.

For Notre Dame, this will be an opportunity to believe they should be back in the top-10, as a 3-0 record, and a win against Purdue could vault them there. With that said, here are three members of the Irish to keep an eye on this Saturday.

Whoever plays left tackle

Starting out, we look at the offensive line, a unit that has been banged up this season, and is a reason for some of the shoddy play of this offense. On Saturday, they have a tough test in Purdue edge rusher George Karlaftis, who is regarded as one of the better pass rushers in the country and is still searching for his first sack of the season.

Whoever plays left tackle will draw this matchup, and we heard yesterday from Brian Kelly that Michael Carmody will be a game-time decision. Whether he plays, or it is Tosh Baker, the man protecting the blindside of Jack Coan or Tyler Buchner has a tall task ahead of him, one that must be won if the Irish are to come out victorious.
