The Notre Dame football team beat the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, and here are three things we learned in the victory.

They say you can learn a lot more about your team from a loss than a win. That might be true, but it certainly isn’t as fun. Notre Dame football beat Purdue 27-13 in a sloppy game where it never felt like the offense could find consistent success and was instead relying on explosive plays.

The defense, meanwhile, seemed to figure out a lot about themselves as a unit.

As for the game itself, there seemed to be something wrong with quarterback Jack Coan. Was it Purdue’s game plan or was Coan’s finger still injured? Was it both? A lot of fans clamored for more from Tyler Buchner, with the young quarterback playing well in limited opportunities.

Meanwhile, the top couple of weapons on Notre Dame struggled to do anything at all.

On defense, the big plays seemed to be a problem that they figured out, but there is still room to grow in terms of tackling. Kyle Hamilton will also continue to be a problem for everyone who the Irish play all season long.

In short, there is a lot to take away from this game. So, here are three things that we learned from Notre Dame’s Week 3 win against Purdue.
