Notre Dame football: A History of Shamrock Series Uniforms

2021: Notre Dame Wisconsin

When Notre Dame meets Wisconsin at Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday, a lot is going to be going on surrounding the game. This is Jack Coan playing against the team he took to a Rose Bowl. Big Noon Saturday and College Gameday will both be there. It’s also the newest edition of the Shamrock Series for Notre Dame.

There is a lot to say about the game itself, but this is about the uniforms.

They’re incredibly bland to be completely honest. It would appear that Notre Dame is making a slight homage to the Chicago, the city hosting the game, while retaining most of the traditional aspects to Notre Dame’s uniforms. Speaking of George Bland-ugh (nailed it), these are still incredibly nice uniforms in their own respect.

The striped pants work, and the gold helmets are still iconic. They’re just not as special or unique as past Shamrock Series uniforms.

Wisconsin also announced they will wear alternate uniforms. Somehow, even more boring than their offensive scheme.
