Notre Dame Football vs. Wisconsin: 3 bold predictions in Week 4

Kurt Hinish Has Multiple Tackles for Loss

One of Notre Dame’s biggest strengths is in its defensive line depth. This allows for the Irish to rotate players in and out on the line, without a steep drop off in quality, so that they are fresh and ready to compete all game long. Teams that struggled with depth here can typically get run on as the game goes on, but not someone like Notre Dame with depth.

However, because of these rotations, a lot of players on the defensive line tend to share the glory and split their stats.

Kurt Hinish is one of those guys who normally doesn’t put up massive numbers. This is partially due to the rotation that Notre Dame plays with. It’s also partially to do with Hinish’s roll on the defensive line. He takes up blockers and stuffs the middle of the field. He makes it hard to run, while opening lanes for linebackers to make plays.

And Kurt Hinish will have at least two tackles for loss against Wisconsin.

This comes back to his skillset going up against what Wisconsin wants to do. The Badgers want to play between the tackles, only going outside or stretching the ball downfield on the rare occasion. This feeds right into Hinish, and will help him to play a great game.
