Notre Dame football vs. Cincinnati: 3 Bearcats who must be stopped

Jerome Ford, Running Back

While a lot of the talk in terms of the Cincinnati Bearcats offense centers around Desmond Ridder, they also have a solid running back in Jerome Ford. Ford came into this season after appearing in ten games last year, this after transferring to the Bearcats from a little-known program called Alabama.

As the feature back in this offense, Ford displays a rare blend of speed and power and is very tough to bring down. In fact, he is averaging six yards per carry this season, and already has 300 yards and six touchdowns to date.

Ford is going to play a huge role in the Bearcats controlling the clock on Saturday, and if the passing game struggles against a tough Notre Dame secondary, they will have no problem leaning on him offensively. He may not play a huge role out of the backfield, but they have more than enough talented wideouts to make up for it, so expect Ford to get his fair share of carries early and often on Saturday.
