Notre Dame football vs. Cincinnati Bearcats: 4 Bold predictions in Week 5

Myjai Sanders Will Have Multiple Sacks

Coming into this season, the odds on favorite for AAC Defensive Player of the Year was the elite defensive end from Cincinnati, Myjai Sanders. To this point, Sanders has been a bit of a disappointment, at least statistically, but that’s largely due to how teams have to approach him.

That is to say, he’s constantly being double and even triple-teamed to throw him off, and it’s creating room for other Bearcats to make big plays.

The left tackle spot, this year, has been a disaster for Notre Dame. Four different players have gotten into the four games played. This is partially due to injuries, and partially due to players not developing properly during their time at Notre Dame. For a player like Sanders, it doesn’t matter what the exact issue has been.

It represents an open invitation to attack.

Notre Dame is allowing around five sacks a game on offense. That’s pretty terrible, and it’s going to cost them a game that they should have won eventually. Sanders is going to dominate this game, and he’s going to have multiple sacks against Notre Dame. Let’s just hope that he’s the only Bearcat who lives in the Irish backfield.
