The Notre Dame football team takes on Cincinnati this afternoon, and here is all the information you need for this crucial matchup.

When the Notre Dame football team takes on the Cincinnati Bearcats in Week 5, they will once again do so as the underdog. A nearly touchdown-underdog against Wisconsin last weekend, the Irish blew out the Badgers thanks to a stunning fourth quarter, which should lead to some high expectations going into this one.

The No. 9 ranked Irish will take on another top-10 team on Saturday inside Notre Dame Stadium with the Bearcats coming to town. Led by an outstanding quarterback in Desmond Ridder, this is the final real hurdle for the Bearcats in terms of a possible CFP run, though the Irish would like nothing more than to stand in their way.

To do so, they will need Cincinnati’s former defensive coordinator, and their current defensive coordinator, Marcus Freeman to have a perfect game plan. And as we saw last weekend, he is starting to put his stamp on this Irish defense.

Notre Dame football Injury Report vs Cincinnati Week 5

The big news when it comes to the injury report this weekend will be at the most important position in sports, the quarterback spot. Jack Coan injured his ankle during the Wisconsin game and did not return, clearing the way for Drew Pyne to step in and be a hero for the Irish in his first time of the 2021 season.

If Coan cannot go, you can expect Pyne to get the start, with hopefully a healthy Tyler Buchner getting some run as well.

Notre Dame football vs Cincinnati Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 5

WynnBET’s Week 5 NCAA odds have the Irish as two-point underdogs against the Bearcats, which is pretty stunning considering this is a home game. While the Bearcats are solid, they have yet to play any real competition this season, and the Irish are coming off a College Gameday blowout against Wisconsin.

As I predicted last weekend, the Irish are the play in this one, as Freeman is going to dial up a game plan to stop his former quarterback. I expect this game to be a tight one, and likely won’t go over the 50.5 over/under, but the Irish will come away with a victory in front of the home crowd, 24-21.
