Notre Dame football: What’s left to accomplish in the 2021 season?

What does the youth bring?

The Irish have a lot of good, young talent on this roster, and some have yet to get significant playing time this season. We have seen Buchner in spurts, but that could ramp up as the season moves on, and of course, the Irish are still hoping to get Blake Fisher back before the end of the 2021 regular season.

Rocco Spindler was supposed to come in and challenge for a starting spot, and with how bad the offensive line has been, he should get more playing time down the stretch. Then, there are the wide receivers, as Deion Colzie, Jayden Thomas, and Lorenzo Styles, three young playmakers who figure to play a big role within this offense in 2022 and beyond.

On defense, Prince Kollie needs to get on the field, as does safety Khari Gee, and the Irish still need to see cornerbacks Philip Riley and Ryan Barnes in action. Also, Audric Estime needs to get more touches in the run game down the stretch, as Kyren Williams could decide to leave for the NFL after this season.
