The Notre Dame football team was led on defense by Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah last season, and he has taken his talents to the NFL in a big way as a rookie.

During the 2020 college football season, the Notre Dame football team was led on the defensive side of the ball by Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, a first-team All-American, and the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year. Though expected to land in the first round, as high as the top-10 in the 2021 NFL Draft, JOK fell due to a health issue and saw himself fall out of the first round.

With that issue cleared up, the Cleveland Browns came calling early on Day 2, and after a bout with COVID this summer, he was ready to go by opening day. Since joining the starting lineup, JOK has become one of the best young defenders in the game, and this past week, he played in a season-high 77 percent of the Browns snaps on defense.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for JOK, who is starting to turn heads on a national level.

Notre Dame football star named first-quarter All-Pro

Incredibly, it has not taken JOK long to get used to the pro game, something we had predicted would happen when the Cleveland Browns picked him in the second round this past April. The fact that he fell to Day 2 was an absolute joke, and he is making the rest of the NFL feel his pain early on in his pro career.

On Wednesday, Pro Football Focus released their first-quarter All-Pro team, and wouldn’t you know it, JOK was named to the first team. This is no big surprise, as he has been the best defensive player in the league as a rookie, and has his Browns as a top-10 team, and a potential Super Bowl contender.

JOK has is a highly-rated player by PFF, as only Matt Milano is rated higher than him at linebacker in the entire year. He has been flying all over the field for the Browns, becoming a missing piece of the puzzle, and while it may be early, he is the clear favorite to bring home the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year honor in 2021.
